The Dubai Airport Free Zone (DAFZA), established in 1996, sits within the boundaries of Dubai International Airport and its major terminals.
The free zone also has an on-site Dubai Customs office to expedite cargo clearance, a state-of-the-art office space, a dedicated logistics centre, a team of specialised business consultants, conference rooms, business lounge, lecture hall and catering facilities.
This free zone was responsible for 12.4 per cent of Dubai’s foreign trade in the first half of 2019.
Activities and Licences
DAFZA trade activity licences cover manufacturing, processing, packaging assembly, the import of raw materials, the export of finished products, import-export distribution, trade licence item storage and all types of services industries.
Both trade and service licences are available.
Types of legal entities

Free Zone Company (FZCO): These companies must have at least one shareholder and no more than 50. These shareholders can either be individual (a person) or non-individual (a company). A minimum share capital of AED 1,000/- is required.

Branch office of an existing company: There is no share capital requirement in this case.
